At PixelPaddle, we believe technology becomes truly impactful when it is used to empower communities, create opportunities, and build confidence among individuals navigating new beginnings. In collaboration with partner technology companies and the Noble Institute, PixelPaddle proudly volunteered its time, expertise, and industry knowledge to support an impactful digital literacy initiative organized with ISSofBC (Immigrant Services Society of BC).
ISSofBC is one of British Columbia’s leading immigrant-serving organizations, dedicated to supporting newcomers and helping them build successful lives in Canada through settlement services, employment support, language programs, career guidance, and community integration initiatives. For decades, ISSofBC has played a vital role in strengthening inclusive communities and empowering newcomers across the province.
PixelPaddle and its collaboration partners designed and delivered an 8-week online learning series (Jan – Mar 2026) focused on helping newcomers start, manage, and grow small or home-based businesses in Canada. The initiative was specifically designed to build practical digital and marketing skills for small business owners, solopreneurs, and aspiring entrepreneurs navigating today’s digital economy.
The sessions covered essential digital business tools and platforms including:
- Instagram for Business
- Facebook Marketing
- AI for Business
- LinkedIn Branding & Networking
- YouTube for Outreach
- Canva for Design & Marketing
- Building Digital Campaigns
The program focused on practical learning, accessibility, and real-world application, ensuring participants could confidently apply digital tools to support their entrepreneurial journeys and business growth.
The feedback from participants reflected the meaningful impact of the initiative:
“The TechTime program helped me improve my confidence in using technology and introduced me to practical tools that are very useful for communication, learning, and professional growth. It also provided a supportive space to ask questions and learn together with others in the community.”
“I found the TechTime sessions valuable, especially learning about Canva, as it can be used not only for business but also across various fields, including administrative work.”
“TechTime gave me the opportunity to improve my digital skills and learn practical tools that support my personal and professional growth in Canada. It was a welcoming environment that encouraged learning and confidence.”
PixelPaddle extends its sincere appreciation to all collaborating partners and their representatives including Mr. Khan, Mr. Khalid, and Mr. Nasser from Creatrixe, Kanji, and Noble Institute respectively for contributing their expertise, generosity, and time toward the success of this initiative.
This collaboration serves as a strong example of how local professionals, ecosystem partners, and community organizations can come together to create meaningful impact. By sharing knowledge, mentorship, and practical skills, initiatives like these help newcomers feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to confidently build their businesses, careers, and futures in Canada.
As a company deeply committed to innovation, digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem development, PixelPaddle remains dedicated to supporting educational initiatives that bridge technology with community empowerment. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with organizations like ISSofBC and contributing toward a stronger, more inclusive, and digitally empowered British Columbia.
