Strengthening the Pakistan–Canada Innovation Corridor at Vancouver WebSummit 2026

Web Summit Vancouver 2026 was more than just a global technology conference — it was a powerful demonstration of how innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurs, investors, and communities are coming together to shape the future of technology, business, and global collaboration.

For PixelPaddle, the experience carried special significance. Earlier this year, we shared our strategic vision and preparation journey toward ecosystem building, immersive technology innovation, and global outreach. This momentum also reflected the organic growth of PixelPaddle’s own Web Summit journey — from participating in Collision Conference Toronto in 2024, progressing through Beta and Alpha startup stages, and proudly participating as a Web Summit Partner in 2026.

Throughout the summit, PixelPaddle actively showcased its immersive Sports Metaverse and blockchain-integrated fan engagement ecosystem through live demonstrations across VR, Web, iOS, and Android platforms. The response from attendees, investors, sports enthusiasts, technology leaders, and strategic partners was overwhelmingly positive, particularly around the platform’s ability to combine immersive engagement, gamification, digital commerce, blockchain ownership, and fan interaction into one scalable ecosystem.

Beyond the exhibition floor, one of the most inspiring aspects of VWS2026 was witnessing the remarkable growth, talent, and entrepreneurial momentum emerging from the Pakistani-Canadian technology and business community. In collaboration with the Pakistan Canada Trade Association (PCTA), PixelPaddle proudly participated in and supported a post-Web Summit networking event hosted at the Consulate, bringing together more than 40 founders, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and professionals from sectors including AI, healthcare, education, manufacturing, consulting, digital media, and advanced technologies.

A major highlight of the evening was an engaging panel discussion moderated by Meer Anwar, CEO of PixelPaddle, featuring respected ecosystem leaders and innovators including Mina Haghighi (Regional Director, Futurpreneur), Chang Han (Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Innovation UBC), and Ushna Chaudhry (Test Lead, Workday). The panel generated valuable discussions around startup growth, innovation strategy, and ecosystem collaboration.

Mina Haghighi shared insights

  • how British Columbia’s innovation ecosystem continues to support young entrepreneurs through mentorship, funding, and business development programs.
  • what mistakes normally startups makes while securing funds and pitching to the potential investors
  • how important a mentor is for the the startup growth and scalability and;
  • how to promote Made in Canada on the global canvas

Chang Han emphasized the importance of understanding problem statements deeply before focusing solely on product sales, encouraging startups to clearly define:

  • why investors should believe in the solution,
  • what revenue potential exists,
  • how growth can scale sustainably,
  • and what differentiates the startup from competitors.

Meanwhile, Ushna Chaudhry highlighted

  • how smaller startups can strategically position themselves for integration, collaboration, and acquisition opportunities within larger enterprise ecosystems while continuing to innovate.
  • what not to do while developing and maturing a product as per industry needs
  • how immigrant talent can find the ways to integrate and contribute towards Canadian economy effectively

The discussions throughout the session reinforced the growing opportunities for collaboration between Pakistani and Canadian companies across sectors such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • Digital Education,
  • Healthcare Innovation,
  • Advanced Manufacturing,
  • SportsTech,
  • Immersive Technologies,
  • and Emerging Digital Economies.

Most importantly, the energy during the networking reflected a broader truth – diaspora-led ecosystems are becoming increasingly important in shaping global innovation. Entrepreneurs and professionals with multicultural experiences are uniquely positioned to bridge markets, foster collaboration, and accelerate innovation across borders.

PixelPaddle remains proud to contribute toward strengthening these connections while continuing to build from British Columbia with a “Build Local, Scale Global” mindset. As we continue expanding our Sports Metaverse, immersive engagement platforms, and B2B2C ecosystem initiatives, events like Web Summit Vancouver reaffirm the immense value of collaboration, mentorship, and community-driven innovation.
